Faces and Voices is a project that captures images of people and the stories they wish to share. These portrait photographs and audio recordings aim to engage us with the extraordinary aspects of people who may appear ‘ordinary’ in day to day life.
As you listen to their stories you soon realise that each one of them has something to say that is unique and important whilst often humorous and witty. There are also many surprises along the way!
The first set of 21 recordings were made during late 2016 and early 2017. The focus was on people who lived and/or worked in and around my home town of Leominster in Herefordshire on the border of Wales in the area known as the Welsh Marches.
Having lived here all my life (some 50 odd years) I became aware of how much I enjoyed listening to people telling me about their personal history and that of their families and friends.
It is with great sadness that I have to report that John Moss, Alec Haines, George Colley, Tony Hodges and Arthur Davies have passed away since participating in the project. Their faces and voices are greatly missed.
